CATEGORIES FOR WHICH COMPETITIONS ARE ORGANIZED
COMPETITION SYSTEM FOR THE STUDENT OLYMPIC GAMES OF SERBIA
COMPETITION RULES BY DISCIPLINE
The 8th annual olimpic games of Republic of Serbia start on the 1st of September 2004. and ends on the 30th of June 2008. During this four year olimpic cycle competitions in the following sports are being organized and carried out:

During the 2007/2008. school year - At the end of this year, final competitions under the name "The 8th student Olympic games of Serbia" will be held. The final competitions in 11 sport disciplines will be held during May/June of 2008. The final competition will be held in Niš, where the competitors will stay and compete in all the sports disciplines from the 2004/2008 programme. The right to compete in "The 8th student Olympic games of Serbia" belongs to the regional winners for the 2007/2008 shcool year in volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor football, athletics and gymnasitcs and the county winners in other sports.
Based on this programme, all the schools have to make their own programmes which will detail the level of participation in the realization of the Programme and at the same time plan those actions (competitions) which they will carry out by themselves, depending on interest, conditions and tradition, but which are not planned by this Programme. Acording to this, schools from this Programme choose and sign up to compete in the Olimpic sports games in those sports which are developed and for which their students have special interests and inclinations.
2. CATEGORIES FOR WHICH COMPETITIONS ARE ORGANIZED
2.1. Athletics, handball, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and shooting
Categories:-elementary school boys and girls,
-high school boys and girls.
2.2. Swiming, sports gymnastics
Categories:-elementary school boys and girls, grades I-IV,
-elementary school boys and girls, grades V-VI,
-elementary school boys and girls, grades VII-VIII,
-high school boys and girls, grades I-IV.
2.3. Indoor footbal
Kategorije: --elementary school boys and girls, grades V-VIII,
-high school boys and girls I-IV.
2.4. The little olympics
Categories:-elementary school boys and girls, grade I (mixed teams),
-elementary school boys and girls, grade II (mixed teams),
-elementary school boys, grade III,
-elementary school girls, grade III
3. ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE
All regular students, if they meet the conditions for the given category, and if they are not too old are eligible. The border date is the first day of school - September 1st, which can be seen in the following table:

All the participants of the competitions within the student Olympic sports games of Serbia must posess the "Sport ID card" based on which the competitor's identity will be determined. The ID must be filled out legibly, and the picture of the student must be verified with the school stamp and director's signature. Each ID must be enumerated and filed in accordance to the article 63, part 2 of the Law on sport and in accordance to article 21, part 2 of the same law.
5. HEALTH CONTROLL OF THE COMPETING STUDENTS
Students may take part in the competition only if they underwent a physical examination and if their "Sport ID card" verifies this, in accordance to article 14 of the Law on sport, article 46, part 2 of the same law states that medical services need to be secured for the duration of the competition.
COMPETITION SYSTEM FOR THE STUDENT OLYMPIC GAMES OF SERBIA
The competition system predicts the folowing levels of competition:
-I level: school competition - competition between classes
-II level: municipal competition,
-III level: county competition,
-IV level: regional competition,
-V level: republic competition.
Aside from the mentioned competition levels OPEN REGIONAL COMPETITIONS in sport gymnastics and swimming will be held to fascilitate a greater number of interested individuals and teams in order to popularise the sports in question.
LOOSE COMPETITION CALENDAR FOR THE 2004/2008 SCHOOL YEAR
The Federation executive board determines the exact dates and places competitions
take place from the county to the republic level and anounces it in the "Prosventi
pregled" periodical each school year in September.
Schools determin the dates for their own competitions in accordance to the municipal calendar at least a week before the county competition.
Municipalities determine the dates for their competitions in accordance to the County calendar, at least a week before the county competition.
Counties and regions hold competitions according to the determined calendars.
